My Typhoon is a 1978 Weekender that I bought in October 2010. She originally was home ported in Southern California but was transported to Lake Pend Oreille, Idaho where she spent the next 20 years. Because of the short season up there, she would be put away for all but the 3 month summer and therefore was kept in good shape. She now sails primarily in San Francisco, Monterey, and Tomales bays. She came without an electrical system which I added to be able to take her on a two week cruise through the San Jaun and Gulf Islands. For that trip I also made a boom tent, though because the weather was so fair it was never used. Because wind and waves can kick up out here on the coast I have really appreciated this full keel boat and am comfortable in most situations with it.
